Discover original, one-off artworks crafted from discarded materials
I make all sorts of things from bits of wood, metal, wire, scrap copper and brass, driftwood, stones... In fact, anything that I can find that inspires me. Each work is original; there will only ever be one.
At this time of year, the colour and shapes of the falling leaves are a great inspiration...
I like to buy copper and brass from local scrap yards, and when I'm out with my Jack Russell Roob, I scour the local environment for anything that fires my imagination - from bits of old weathered wood, to interesting stones, branches, junk, and so on. It's great fun to see the seed of an idea turn into lighting, garden ornaments, bird baths, weathervanes, gargoyles, household items... often it is the things I find that suggest the idea.
My favourite items to work from are old copper boilers and hot water tanks which I cut up. These come in different thicknesses and the years of wear create really interesting textures, colours and patterns in the copper.
All of the works are unique- no two ever come out the same due to using different materials and my own boredom at having to do repetitious stuff!
Some of the works featured are still in stock (you can see prices if you click on the picture - no price means it is no longer available).
Every work is unique, so if you like something on this site and want one like it, then, please message me. I'm happy to do commissions.
